[ ALL BY TOMORROW! ]

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow I will be giving the students their feedback slip for term 1. This is a general feedback for each of your to track their progress for term 1. I think that it is important for each of you to be kept updated of your child's progress in school and it is impossible for me to call each and everyone one at a time. As such, I will pass your child a feedback slip to let them and you know how they have fared for term 1 and what they can further improve on. Lets' work together to make term 2 better.

Please do not be too hard on your children's results for term 1. Primary 5 is a transition phase from Primary 4. Topics are more and get increasingly more difficult. I understand that some of the students do feel pressurized and demoralized that their results are not ideal. Do understand that there is a first time for everything. It is in a way, good that the students know that primary 5 work is not that simple and this is the standard for PSLE that we want to prepare them for. As such, they can then take up challenges and be self discipline to work towards excelling and doing better the next time around. It is comforting that the common test does not count as part of the overall results but please take the chance to work on your child's weaknesses and develop your child to improve.

We will take it step by step and set a realistic target for your child to work on for their next major assessment (SA1) and this is reflected on their feedback slip. Most importantly, do MOTIVATE AND ENCOURAGE THEM. I think they need all our motivation and encouragement. I can only do so much in school. When at home, they do want to know that you all care despite all our scoldings, naggings and constant reminders.

Dear Students,

You must be able to understand that all parents and teachers are playing our part to prepare you for your PSLE. It is never too early as we need to set our foundation in place. Every week you will hear my constant reminder. To care for you is better than not to show any care and concern at all. So take all scoldings, naggings and feedback as your improvement messages!

If you feel pressurized and stressed, do not be too alarmed. If you are feeling that way, it means that you want to do your best and as such, you will feel that way at times. Take a deep breath, calm yourself down and take breaks at time. Do not overwork yourself. We work hard, reap our rewards and then we play hard.

As term 1 draws to a close, do remember these important points.

- WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AT SA1? END OF P5? AND END OF P6? What do you want to do with your next phase of life (Secondary school)? Start planning ahead.

- SELF DISCIPLINE is important in order to achieve your targets. with no self discipline, we can never concentrate in putting our best forward.

- RULE #1. WE ARE A FAMILY! We need to work together. Friends are important. We cheer for them for good things done and not jeer at them. CLASS SPIRIT AND TEAM SPIRIT is important. Cheer for your class, cheer for your friends. We are in this together, ALL 35 of US!

- If Alan can achieve and improve on his english, so can everyone of you. Nick Vjucic and even the characters in our news stimulus article today are worse off and they do not have limbs or sight but they still push forward to make full meaning of their lives. SO STOP complaining about what cannot be done and work on what can be done. We can do it if we put our 100% effort (RULE #5)

It's been a tough 10 weeks of term 1. Term 2 will zoom by quickly. Recharge and be prepared to work hard again.

Thank You,
Sincerely,
Mr Nelson Ong
