Family trees and reproduction in plants

Dear all,

Today we learned about how to draw and interpret a family tree. Family trees allow u to trace our relatives and next of kins on both maternal and paternal side.

Maternal refers to the mother's side (m for mummy)
Paternal refers to the father's side (p for papa)

We use a circle symbol to represent the females and
A square symbol to represent the males.

Please also indicate the name of the relative on your family tree. E.g uncle, auntie, grandmother, etc.

We also learn about reproduction in plants.

Important concept for today!!!

You need to know that pollen grains are transferred to the stigma by wind or by insects.

The male parts of the flower are the anther and filament.

The female parts of the flower are the stigma, style, ovary and ovules.

Science common test topics are from units of life - cells, cycles - from parents to young and reproduction in plants.
You WILL also be tested on primary 3 and 4 topics so do start yr revision.

Thank you,
Sincerely,
Mr Nelson Ong
