Revision Week

Dear all,

4 more papers to go and it is time to really revise hard on them. Today, we finished on your Science Practice Paper MCQ questions. 30 questions but we took time to go through which questions are important and the concept and skills to solve the questions. Some of the key points to take note of:

  1. Based on the food pyramid, draw out the producers and order of consumers based on what is given in the food chain or web. The animal at the bottom of the pyramid is always the greatest in amount at the start. The animal at the top of food pyramid is always the least in amount at the start.
  2. Exposed surface area, amount of wind, level of humidity and temperature affect the rate of evaporation.
  3. The image we see in the mirror is inverted and opposite.
  4. Blood going out from our body to the lungs to the windpipe to the nose is rich in carbon dioxide.
  5. All magnets (temporary or permanent) have South and North Poles.
  6. Birds that move in the water have webbed feet to help them move quickly. (Modified limbs)
  7. The hardness of an object is its ability to withstand scratches!
  8. The strength of an object is its ability to not break easily.
  9. New cells replace damaged cells.
  10. The faster the speed, the greater the kinetic energy.
  11. When an object moves upwards, the gravitational potential energy increases while the kinetic energy decreases.
  12. When an object moves downwards, the gravitational potential energy decreases while the kinetic energy increases.
  13. Caterpillars and butterflies are ONE organism of the same kind! Mealworms and beetles are ONE organism of a same kind! Wriggler and Mosquito are ONE organism of a same kind!
  14. Gravity acts downwards on an object.
  15. Friction acts in the opposite direction of a moving object.
  16. The more force to move an object, the more friction there is.
  17. Shoes need more friction to help us walk. Slides of the playground need less friction to help us move down smoothly without getting injured.
  18. The lesser the friction, the more kinetic energy and further the distance moved.
Please bring your Unit 7 files for English, SA1 Practice papers for English and Science and Science Work book next week!

Thanks,
Happy revision!
Sincerely,
Mr Nelson Ong
